Dear Neighbor,
As a native Detroiter and a longtime resident of District 7, I know how proud we are of our neighborhoods and our city. We care deeply about our community and that’s why we need strong leadership on the Detroit City Council to ensure every resident has the opportunity to thrive.
I’ve spent more than a decade working on issues that impact our daily lives– protecting voting rights, fighting for water affordability and equitable transportation, and improving public safety in our community. I have the skills and experience to fight for every resident and family in District 7 and I am committed to serving you.
This campaign is about increasing the well-being of everyday Detroiters, rooted in transparency, engagement, accountability, and service. I will work to earn your trust and your vote on Tuesday, August 5th. Please reach out to me with any questions, and I look forward to meeting you soon. It is going to take all of us, not only during this election season but everyday afterwards, to lift up everyone in District 7.
As your next city councilperson, Denzel is committed to:
- Ensuring that all of our residents receive basic city services, and that our tax dollars and city resources address the needs of our district and residents. All of our residents, from youth to seniors, deserve a good quality of life and an accessible and accountable government.
- Fighting for truly affordable housing, increasing home ownership, advocating for residents’ rights, and pushing back against those who try to take advantage of homeowners and tenants.
- Advocating for an equitable public transit system so that residents can work, play, and learn without worrying about how they will get around the city and the surrounding areas.
- Strengthening our climate-resilient infrastructure to combat flooding and damage by partnering with advocates and officials on all levels of government and pushing for the right to clean air and affordable drinking water to be a reality for every resident.
